common problems and solutions of satellite receiver
The reason why the satellite receiver doesn’t have image and the corresponding processing method
Reason 1: Is the connection of the set-top box incorrect?
Solution: check whether the video and audio cables on the set-top box are correctly connected to the video and audio input jacks of the TV.
Reason 2: Is the TV set incorrectly?
Solution: don’t mistake about AV1 and AV2, they should correspond to AV1 and AV2 displayed on the TV screen.
Incomplete channel search or mosaic
the most common reason for the problems of mosaic and incomplete channels is the low signal. As long as the signal quality is improved, the problem will be solved.
Reasons and solutions for low signal quality
Reason 1: Is the antenna size too small?
Solution: We need a large size antenna to receive satellite TV.
Reason 2. Is the triangle adjustment not precise?
Solution: If your antenna is big enough, please adjust the triangle(the azimuth angle, elevation angle of the antenna and the polarization angle of the LNB).
Reason 3. Is the accuracy of the antenna not enough?
Solution: There are many copycat antenna now. Some fans buy copycat antenna from an economic point of view. Take a 1.5m feed-forward antenna as an example. If you fine-tune the triangle and still cannot achieve the desired effect, it may be because the focus of the antenna and the LNB is not adjusted properly. we can correct the focus by adjusting the support rod (the three rods connecting the feed horn and the antenna)of the LNB and looking at the parameters of the signal quality on the monitor or receiver.
Reason 4. Is there any interference?
Solution: If you have tried all of the above methods and it still doesn’t work, then you can consider whether it is being interfered with. We can find out carfully if there is any interference source nearby, and avoid the interference source.
Of course, there are other reasons for the problem of mosaic and incomplete channels: such as the failure of the F connector and the quality of the cable and the diseqc switch is poor.
The phenomenon of set-top box crash
Most of the set-top boxes we use now are copycats. If the set top box crashes, just turn off the power of the set-top box for a while and restart it.
Methods of receiver fault identification and elimination
1.Phenomenon: There is no display and no sound when set top box is turned on.
Possible reason: The power is not turned on.
Corresponding processing method: plug in the power cord.
2.Phenomenon: There is no display and no sound when the machine is turned on. Unscrew the F connector of the feeder cable behind the set-top box and the machine can be turned on normally, but the fault remains the same.
Possible reasons: When produce the F connector, the shielding layer of the feeder line is not cleanly cut, and the shielding layer and the core are short-circuited.
Corresponding processing method: Remake the F connector at both ends of the feed line.
3.Phenomenon: There is a boot screen when booting up the set top box, and then a black screen appears.
Possible reason: The program is not saved in the set-top box
Corresponding processing method: Enter the blind scan interface of the menu, search for the program again, and the DM may have to refresh the receiver.
4.Phenomenon: When the satellite receiver is turned on, a black screen or other screen is displayed, and if you press the menu button on the remote control of the set-top box, the menu is not displayed.
Possible reason: The TV is not adjusted to the corresponding video and audio state.
Corresponding processing method: Different TVs have different methods, usually press the AV/TV button of the TV remote control, and some remote control is the “signal source” button.
5.Phenomenon: there is image, but no accompanying sound.
Possible reasons and corresponding processing methods:
①The AV cable is not connected correctly (red or white connector):reconnect the AV cable.
②set to mute:press the [Mute] button to turn on the sound again.
③ Turn the volume switch to the minimum:press the volume adjustment key to increase the volume.
6.Phenomenon: there is accompanying sound, but no picture.
Possible reasons and corresponding processing methods:
①The AV cable (yellow connector) is not connected correctly:reconnect the AV cable.
② Adjust the brightness of the TV to the minimum:adjust the brightness by referring to the Image settings section.
③ The set-top box is playing an audio program:press the TV/Radio switch button on the remote control to switch.
7.Phenomenon: The image does not match the sound content or there is a strange sound.
Possible reasons and corresponding processing methods:
①The channel setting is not appropriate:press the [Channel] key to select the appropriate setting or solve the problem by changing the audio track.
②BIN is incorrect:find a suitable BIN to refresh the machine.
8.Phenomenon: remote control failure.
Possible reasons and corresponding processing methods:
①The battery power is insufficient or the positive and negative poles are installed incorrectly:replace the battery or re-install the battery.
②There is an obstacle between the remote control and the front panel of the set-top box:avoid obstacles.
③The remote control exceeds the working range:place it within the working range.
④The remote control exceeds the effective angle:place it within the effective angle.
