Most satellite dishes are usually parabolic in shape. The satellite signal will be concentrated to the focal point of antenna after being reflected by satellite antenna.
The satellite antenna is composed of a metal paraboloid, which is responsible for reflecting the satellite signal to the feed and LNB located at the focal point.
Generally speaking, the larger the antenna aperture, the stronger the signal of the program and the higher the reception quality. However, considering the cost, users require that the smaller antenna aperture, the better.

Feedhorn
a horn that gathers satellite signals is set at the focus of the parabolic antenna, which is called a feed horn, which means the source of feeding energy, and requires all the energy concentrated to the focus to be collected.
High-frequency head (LNB)
LNB also known as downconverter, it down-converts and amplifies the satellite signal sent by the feed, and then transmits it to the satellite receiver. The lower the noise of the LNB, the better.
Satellite Receiver
satellite receiver,it demodulates the satellite signal transmitted by the LNB, and demodulates the satellite TV image signal and accompanying sound signal.
Steps of install the antenna
Preparing tools and software for installing antenna
1:One set of impact drill, use 8MM impact drill bit, pencil or oil-based pen or chalk to mark the location of the hole, pay attention to the distance between the place you want to install and the power supply, if it is too far, be prepared to extend the power supply Wire.
2:Several coaxial TV cable. Measure the distance yourself. From the position of your TV to the position of the antenna, plus about 3 meters, it is very important to choose a coaxial TV cable. A bad cable will directly affect the signal.
3:8MM expansion screws, there are 4 pieces screws when you purchase antenna, do not need to buy.
4:a wrench, a small wrench will do, for fixing bolts.
5:A pair of scissors.
6:One Phillips screwdriver and one flat-blade screwdriver. If there is a double-ended screwdriver, only one is enough.
7:A pair of needle nose pliers.
8:A hammer is used for smashing expansion bolts.
9:A roll of waterproof electrical tape.
10:Other heat-shrinkable tubes, cable ties.
11:A small LCD color TV. Used for satellite tuning. With AV input. If you don’t have it, you can only move a big TV (note that you can’t use a black and white TV). If there is no TV that can be moved, it is not impossible to adjust, then you need a laptop, and you need to be able to connect to the Internet with your own router at the location where the antenna is installed (it is best to have a wireless router), and use a laptop to adjust the satellite. Select the installation location and use the satellite finder software to check the relevant parameters of the satellite in your place, and check whether there is any obstacle according to the corresponding direction and elevation angle displayed.
Assembled antenna
(1) Install the six-lobed or eight-lobed metal antenna plates into a symmetrical parabolic antenna. If it is asymmetrical, it will affect the collection and concentration of satellite signals.
(2) Install the elevation adjustment screw.
(3) Install the feed horn and LNB: Install the feedhorn and LNB on the focal point of the antenna.
So how do we know the position of the focus? It can be calculated through physical formulas. For example I use a antenna with a diameter of 1.8m. According to the formula of the focal length ratio of the parabolic antenna: the F/D range is 0.34 to 0.4, and the correction value is 0.15. Calculate its focal length F=1.8×0.34+0.15=0.76 (meters). That is to say, for a 1.8-meter large antenna, the feed source and the LNB should be installed in the center of 0.76 meters from the bottom of the antenna, and the focusing effect will be ideal.
If you are using a offset antenna, the installation of the feedhorn must deviate from the focus by a small angle to achieve the best receiving effect.
Install the LNB
(1) Insert the LNBF into the large round hole in the center of the feed plate;
(2) According to the F/D value of the antenna parameter, align the flange end face of the feed horn with the corresponding F/D scale on the side of the LNBF;
(3) Make the “0” scale on the LNBF frequency end face parallel to the horizontal plane;
(4) Slightly tighten the tightening screws on the side of the feed horn flange;
(5) Connect the IF output cable of the LNBF to the LNBF input port of the receiver.
Start wiring after installed LNB
connect the receiver directly from the LNB. After connecting the TV, you can turn it on. The SNR is generally between 59%-63% and the AGC is generally above 70%. (The SNR is signal quality,it must be more than 70% to be locked. AGC is the signal strength, as long as there is no problem with your wiring, there will be signal strength. If the AGC is 0, it means that the coaxial cable is short-circuited. Please check the line.)
