Introduction to the types and parameters of LNBF

Table of Contents

According to the structure shape, can be divided into single-polarized split(LNB) and double feed integration (LNBF) two kinds, including bipolar feed integration HF head more types, according to the oscillation mode can be divided into single oscillation and dual oscillation two kinds. According to the output port can be divided into single output, dual output, multi-output, etc.

Single-polarized split(LNB)

Single-polarized split(lnb) has only one polarization oscillator, also called polarization needle, which can only receive one kind of polarization signal, if you want to receive another kind of polarization signal, you need to rotate the HF head by 90 degrees. Since there is no polarization conversion circuit inside the single-polarization HF head, the signal dissipation is smaller and the gain and stability are higher, which is mostly used in engineering systems.  The flange of C-band feeder is rectangular in shape, with rectangular inner diameter, length×width of 58.2mm×29.1mm; the flange of Ku-band feeder is square in shape (see Figure 3), with rectangular inner diameter, length×width of The aspect ratio of the inner diameter of both feeders is 2;1.

Double feed integration(LNBF)

There are two mutually vertical probes inside the LNBF, which receive horizontal (H) and vertical (V) signals respectively, and there is a horizontal bar between them, which is an isolation needle and plays the role of polarization isolation. Bipolar single output HF head is 13/18V electronic switching circuit is introduced into the interior of the cavity, which automatically identifies the voltage level sent by the receiver through the feed line, whether it is 18V or 13V, so as to select the horizontal or vertical polarization probe work, thus achieving the purpose of bipolar single output.

1.C-band bipolar dual local oscillator single output LNBF

C-band dual-polarity dual fundamental single output LNBF, using 5150MHz, 5750MHz two fundamental frequencies for H, V polarization signal for separate processing, in the 3.6 ~ 4.2GHz range of the two polarization signal will be converted into 950 ~ 1550MHz and 1550 ~ 2150MHz, respectively, do not overlap each other in the IF frequency, so as to achieve a common feed line in the transmission. With the receiver, two polarized signals can be received at the same time.

2.Ku-band dual polarity dual local oscillator single output LNBF

Ku-band dual-polarity dual-principal-oscillation single-output LNBF commonly has 9.75/10.60GHz or 9.75/10.75GHz two principal oscillation frequency, built-in 0/22k switching circuit, through the satellite receiver output O/22kHz pulse to select its low and high principal oscillation, but also available satellite TV receiver 13/18V to switch the horizontal or vertical polarization of the satellite signal to achieve full-band reception of Ku-band programs.

3.C/KU LNBF

In order to enhance the band and port reception function of the lnbf and reduce its installation volume, a composite HF head has appeared on the market:C/KU LNBF

The C-band lnbf and Ku-band lnbf are manufactured together to complete the reception of all C and Ku-band signals on one satellite, as shown in the figure below, which integrates the reception functions of horizontal and vertical polarization of C and Ku-band with four independent output ports. Connected by switch, it can receive not only C-band satellite signals, but also KU-band satellite signals.
