The full name is Multichannel Microwave Distribution System .
MMDS was originally used for terrestrial transmission of one-way TV and Internet broadcasting. It is a complete set of transmitting and receiving systems, which belong to the DVB-T standard.
As a part of the MMDS receiving system, the MMDS downconverter belongs to the ground wave receiving downconverter, and was later used alone as a connection downconverter.
Limited by the transmit power, terrain and surrounding radio interference, the receiving range of the MMDS system is generally within 50km of the transmitting tower, and it is usually used in suburbs and other places where the population is relatively dispersed.
